About me
This is my portfolio of photography and artwork I have compiled over the years. I am a junior doctor that studied in Auckland, but have lived in Christchurch for most of my life. I'm now back in Chch, with my family and partner. I moved from Cheshire in the UK when I was 9 and so I can't call myself a true kiwi unfortunately! I have always loved art, particularly drawing - I think this is due to my dad being very arty himself. Throughout school I would draw during class when I was probably meant to be listening. In university lectures my textbooks were mostly sketchbooks by the end of semester. As much as I enjoy medicine, I pursued art as a hobby as I've always thought it's too risky and difficult to make a living out of it. I stopped painting and drawing for years as my degree took up a lot of effort and time, but have slowly returned to my passion. I just started using watercolours in 2025 and I'm loving how convenient and portable it is! Most of my art comes from putting my thoughts and feelings to paper. I have entered my first art expo in North Canterbury in July 2025 which I'm excited for! I'm also in the process of creating more NZ travel content through photography, so I can describe some of the best places to visit to those wanting to explore the country. On my road trips I have come across magnificent waterfalls, rainforests, stunning beaches, caves, hills and reserves. A lot of these aren't even on the map but I've done my best to describe or label them for future travellers. I am yet to buy a digital camera and so a few of these photos are not of the 4k quality. These photos are taken with my Samsung A13, so I feel it can hopefully only get better from here in sharing the scenery of Aotearoa. Any commission I gain from my art I will be putting towards a camera - the Canon EOS R50.
