About the Artist
My name’s Hannah; I am a 28 year old local kiwi artist in Christchurch.
This is my art folio which showcases my photography from 2025 onwards following my transition from phone to camera.
I have always found myself passionate about photography, painting and drawing. It wasn’t until early last year, 2025, when I bought my first proper camera, that my love for photographing birds began. I now call myself a bird person, which to many, may be the indicator of reaching my 30s…
I actually shed tears when I got my Canon camera. I rang my partner after I’d bought it and he heard me crying and instantly grew concerned that I’d already dropped the thing on the pavement. But no, I was just genuinely so happy that I could finally stop using my Samsung phone to take pictures.
I was always into sketching, ever since I was a young kid, because my dad is an artist himself and would spend time practicing with me. I have done a few art expos, commissions, and competitions and have just published my second photo book. I have since transitioned to using soft pastels and oil paints as my primary art medium with my style reflecting a mixture of impressionism, atmospheric art and tonalism.
I paint from how I feel, and try to depict the mood.
I have yet to find my “signature” art style but I just want to share my art with the world!
